(Harrisburg, PA)—Dr. Linda W. Marcincin, principal of Slatington Elementary School in Slatington, Pa., has recently been appointed as Secretary of the Pennsylvania Association of Elementary and Secondary School Principals (PAESSP), headquartered in Summerdale, Pa. PAESSP’s membership of approximately 4,000, is comprised of elementary, middle level and secondary school principals, assistant principals and supervisors and is affiliated with the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) and the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP).

(Harrisburg, PA)—Dr. Barbara A. Rudiak, immediate past president of the Pennsylvania Association of Elementary and Secondary School Principals (PAESSP) and the executive director, school management, K-5 elementary schools for the Pittsburgh School District, was honored as the outgoing president by her peers and invited guests at the fifteenth annual PAESSP State Conference in Camp Hill, Pa. Dr. Rudiak was presented with a plaque and a ring for her exemplary service to the association in 2006-2007 during the annual banquet held at the Radisson Penn Harris Hotel on Sunday, October 21, 2007.

(Harrisburg, PA)—Approximately 200 elementary, middle level and secondary school principals, assistant principals, supervisors and other education leaders will convene in the Harrisburg area for the 15th annual conference of the Pennsylvania Association of Elementary and Secondary School Principals (PAESSP) to be held October 21-23, 2007 at the Radisson Penn Harris Hotel & Convention Center in Camp Hill.
“This conference is dedicated to assist principals, assistant principals and other educational leaders with the many initiatives such as AYP, IDEIA, Act 1, NCLB and others they ecounter on a daily basis,” explained Marshall J. Wagner, the 2007 conference chairperson and a retired principal from the Hollidaysburg Area School District.

(HARRISBURG, PA –June 15, 2007) – Ms. Kathryn (Kate) Taylor, principal of Grandview Elementary School in Morrisville, Pa., was selected as Pennsylvania’s 2007 National Distinguished Principal. The 2007 celebration marks the 24th year the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) and the U.S. Department of Education have presented this prestigious award.
“Ms. Taylor was nominated and selected by her fellow principals through a statewide search process conducted by the Pennsylvania Association of Elementary and Secondary School Principals (PAESSP),” said PAESSP president Dr. Barbara Rudiak.

The Pennsylvania Association of Elementary and Secondary School Principals (PAESSP) is pleased to announce that Dr. William Hartman, Jr. will become PAESSP’s new Executive Director on July 1, 2007. At the association’s December board meeting, Dr. J. Daniel Collins announced his plans to retire on June 30, 2007.
Dr. Hartman is retiring from York Suburban School District at the end of June where he serves as superintendent. |

RESTON, VA — Thomas Lesniewski, principal of Deer Lakes Middle School, Russellton, and Janice Mindish, principal of Penn Manor High School, Millersville, were named the 2007 MetLife/NASSP (National Association of Secondary School Principals) Pennsylvania Middle Level and High School Principals of the Year, respectively.
Jointly sponsored by NASSP and MetLife, the annual State and National Principal of the Year Awards program recognizes outstanding secondary school principals who demonstrate excellence in educational leadership, complex problem solving, professional growth, and community involvement.
