(Harrisburg, PA)—Brian L. Cashman, Sr., principal of Susquehannock High School in the Southern York County School District, is the 2005-06 president of the Pennsylvania Association of Elementary and Secondary School Principals (PAESSP). He assumed the position following the PAESSP Annual Business Meeting on Tuesday, October 25, 2005, during the PAESSP State Conference in King of Prussia.

(Harrisburg, PA)—Joseph J. Foriska, principal of Thaddeus Stevens Elementary School in the Pittsburgh Public Schools, and past president of the Pennsylvania Association of Elementary and Secondary School Principals (PAESSP), was honored as the outgoing president by his peers and invited guests at the thirteenth annual state principals’ conference in King of Prussia. Mr. Foriska was presented with a plaque and a ring for his exemplary service to the association during 2004-2005 during the annual banquet held at the Valley Forge Radisson / Scanticon in King of Prussia on Monday evening, October 24, 2005.

(Harrisburg, PA) — Dr. Gerald L. Zahorchak, Acting Secretary of Education for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, has been selected to receive the prestigious Educational Excellence Award for 2005 from the Pennsylvania Association of Elementary and Secondary School Principals (PAESSP). The award, given annually, recognizes a Pennsylvanian who has made significant contributions to public education and who continues to demonstrate a sincere commitment to quality education for all the children of the Commonwealth. Dr. Zahorchak will be presented with the award in a special ceremony during the banquet at PAESSP’s thirteenth annual state conference, Monday, October 24, 2005, at the Valley Forge Radisson / Scanticon Hotel & Convention Center, King of Prussia, Pa.

(Harrisburg, PA)—More than 225 elementary, middle level and secondary school principals, assistant principals and supervisors will convene in King of Prussia for the thirteenth annual conference of the Pennsylvania Association of Elementary and Secondary School Principals (PAESSP) to be held October 23-25, 2005, at the Valley Forge Radisson / Scanticon Hotel & Convention Center.
According to Thomas W. Sigafoos, principal at Ridge Park Elementary School in the Colonial School District and the 2005 conference chairperson, “This year’s theme, No PRINCIPAL Left Behind, was deliberately selected to parallel the No Child Left Behind initiative. Issues such as accountability for student achievement, assessment, rigorous curricula and innovative approaches are being addressed in this year’s program.”
