(Harrisburg, PA)—Frank P. Galicki, principal of Dallas Senior High School in the Dallas School District, and outgoing president of the Pennsylvania Association of Secondary School Principals (PASSP), was honored by his peers and guests at the tenth annual state principals’ conference in Reading. Galicki was presented with a plaque and a ring for his exemplary service to the association as president during 2001-2002 at the annual banquet held at the Reading Sheraton Hotel on Monday evening, October 21, 2002. Galicki currently serves PASSP as immediate past president, and has served as the chair of the Pennsylvania Associations of Elementary and Secondary School Principals’ Joint Management Committee. He is a former president-elect, president and immediate past president of PASSP, as well as a member of the conference committee (1994-present) and the East I Regional Representative (1993-1997).

(Harrisburg, PA)—Dr. David C. Pietro, principal of New Brighton Middle School in the New Brighton School District, has been named president of the Pennsylvania Association of Elementary School Principals (PAESP) for 2002-2003.
He began his career in education as a social studies teacher in grades 9-12 in the New Brighton School District. He also served as a secondary guidance counselor (9-12) and an elementary guidance counselor (K-5), both in the New Brighton School District.

(Harrisburg, PA)—Marshall J. Wagner, principal of Hollidaysburg Area Junior High School in the Hollidaysburg Area School District, has been named president of the Pennsylvania Association of Secondary School Principals (PASSP) for 2002-2003.
Mr. Wagner began his career in education as a classroom instructor at Reading Senior High School where he taught for nine years. He was also an assistant principal at Philipsburg-Osceola Area Junior Senior High School; principal of Moshannon Valley Junior Senior High School; principal of student services at Tyrone Junior Senior High School; and principal of Philipsburg-Osceola Area Senior High School.

(Harrisburg, PA)—The Pennsylvania Associations of Elementary and Secondary School Principals (PAESSP) has announced that J. Daniel Collins, D.Ed., a retired superintendent from the Downingtown Area School District, has been hired as the association’s new executive director.
Dr. Collins brings a background of 32.5 years in public education to PAESSP. He has served 28 years as an administrator. He spent 19 ½ of those years as a superintendent in several school districts, including Downingtown, Hempfield and Dover. He began his career as an 11th grade U.S. history teacher in Prince George’s County, Md., where he taught for five years.

(Williamsport, PA)—Former Williamsport Area School District educator, Thomas M. Shivetts, has been named executive director of BLaST Intermediate Unit 17, effective April 1. Shivetts is replacing long-time executive director Claire Goodman who has announced his retirement.
Intermediate Unit 17 serves 19 school districts and 29 non-public schools in Bradford, Lycoming, Sullivan and Tioga counties. BLaST provides requested special education, technology and curriculum services to school districts.
