PASA/PAESSP Workshop - "EARLY LITERACY"

Co-sponsored by the Pennsylvania Association of School Administrators (PASA) and the Pennsylvania Association of Elementary and Secondary School Principals (PAESSP)
Dr. J. Richard Gentry, nationally known consultant and author of My Kid Can’t Spell, will lead this full-day workshop, which will help administrators guide their K-2 teachers and students through the five critical emergent levels of literacy.
The workshop will provide an overview of the “best practices techniques that work to develop skills in phonemic awareness, phonics and spelling, including new findings from brain research. Dr. Gentry will offer both practical ideas for implementing research-based practices and guidance on setting up a successful writing and spelling program in the early childhood education curriculum.

The workshop will begin with registration at 8:30 am. The program will begin at 9 a.m. and conclude by 3:30 p.m. at all three sites. The cost of this program is $120 (includes lunch and materials). Download a registration form from the PASA web site or call PASA at (717) 540-4448.
REGISTRATION POLICY: Registrations are confirmed only upon receipt of a completed registration form and written acknowledgement from the PASA office. A $25 service fee will be retained for cancellations received two weeks or less prior to the scheduled program. NO REFUNDS will be given if cancellation is received five business days or less prior to the scheduled program.
