Principals Leadership Academies, Part I and Part II

   The Principals Leadership Academy Part I will be repeated (with a few changes in both program and format) and held in two locations during the summer of 2001:

July 25-27, 2001 - Holiday Inn Grantville (717) 469-0661

                (east of Harrisburg off I-81)

Features: A group event at Penn National Race track, discount tickets to HersheyPark for all family members

and use of the summer resort facility.

August 8-10, 2001 - Radisson Hotel, Monroeville (412) 373-7300

                (suburban Pittsburgh, off the PA Turnpike)

Features: Shopping at the Monroeville Mall, free use of athletic facility, fine restaurants close by, short trip to downtown Pittsburgh.

   For both locations - Time: 2.5 days, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on first day; 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on second day; and 9 a.m. to noon on third day. The cost is $315 and includes 15 hours of conference time (15 Act 48 hours), six meals and all materials. Hotel accommodations are separate and must be made directly with the hotel.    The Principals Leadership Academy Part II, which is designed only for those who have completed Part I, will be held at Toftrees in State College on August 1, 2001.

   Academy II is a 2.5-day conference that will focus on four topics, all of which you identified as important agenda items: Leadership Skills, Part 2; Differentiated Supervision; Team Building and Authentic Consensus; and Legal Issues and Updates. 

   The academy will provide 15 hours of training, all approved for Act 48 credit. The conference will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 1 and end around noon on Friday, August 3, 2001.

   The Academy II registration fee is $315. Please make hotel reservations directly with Toftrees. The
