Two PASSP Members to Receive the Prestigious Mamana Award in 2002

   The award, named for Editor Emeritus of PASSP, Joseph Mamana, recognizes an association member who reflects the attributes of the award’s namesake: membership in good standing, meritorious service to the association, significant contributions to the professional advancement of Pennsylvania principals and personal attributes of dedication and commitment to education.


Dr. Ronald W. Dufalla

   Dr. Ronald W. Dufalla, principal at Brentwood High School in the Brentwood Borough S.D. since 1996, has been selected to receive the PASSP - Joseph Mamana Meritorious Service Award for 2002. Dr. Dufalla is being recognized with this prestigious award for his contributions, commitment and dedication to the principalship and PASSP.

   As a 16-year member of PASSP and a veteran administrator, Dr. Dufalla has held the following positions: West III regional representative; president-elect; president; past president; member of the Joint Management Committee; and chair of the Joint Management Committee.

   Dr. Dufalla received a B.S. in secondary social studies from Edinboro University, a M.S. in secondary education from Duquesne University and a Ph.D. in educational administration from the University of Pittsburgh.


Robert J. Eichensehr

   Robert J. Eichensehr, principal at Lycoming Valley Middle School in the Williamsport Area School District, has been selected to receive the PASSP - Joseph Mamana Meritorious Service Award for 2002. Mr. Eichensehr is being recognized with this prestigious award for his contributions, commitment and dedication to the principalship and PASSP.

   A veteran administrator and PASSP leader, Mr. Eichensehr has served the association in a number of leadership roles, including Central I regional representative; board advisor to the Curriculum Committee; chair and assistant chair of the Assistant Principals’ Conference; president-elect; president; and past president. He currently serves as the NASSP coordinator. Additionally, Mr. Eichensehr was selected as the 1992 Assistant Principal of the Year for Pennsylvania.

   Mr. Eichensehr began his career as a math teacher and wrestling coach at Williamsport S.D.

   He received a B.S. degree from Lock Haven University and a master’s in educational administration from Bucknell University.
