Tar Wars Poster Contest Gets Underway
Tar
Wars
is a state health program educating 4th and 5th graders on the
hazards
of tobacco. The program targets elementary school districts
throughout
the Commonwealth. Physicians, medical residents and students
volunteer
their time to visit elementary schools to educate students on the
hazards
of using tobacco. At the end of the school year, the Pennsylvania
Academy
of Family Physicians and Foundation conducts a state poster contest
during
their Annual Meeting. This year, the meeting is in Gettysburg. The
contest
is on Saturday, June 1, 2002.
