Standard & Poor’s Announces New
Release Date for School Evaluation Services
As
you are aware, Standard & Poor's delayed the public release of its School
Evaluation Services web site for Pennsylvania due to the tragic events of
September 11, 2001.
Standard & Poor's headquarters, which house the School Evaluation
Services staff and operations, are located just a few blocks from the World
Trade Center site in lower Manhattan. Standard & Poor’s is indeed grateful
to report that its entire staff is safe.
NEW DATES
The
new launch date of the School Evaluation Services is Wednesday, October 3, 2001.
One of the regional presentations that could not be completed as
originally planned has also been rescheduled:
FEEDBACK
FROM SCHOOL OFFICIALS
Standard
& Poor’s have received many thoughtful and constructive comments from
school officials during the S&P Observations report preview period. As a
result these clarifications and adjustments to certain key data items have been
incorporated. These items will be identified in a subsequent communication from
Standard & Poor’s prior to the October 3 launch date.
PLEASE
NOTE:
S&P’s School Evaluation
Services (SES) will not be available to the public until the evening of October 3, 2001. Data on every school
district in the state will go live at that time. The information can be found at
www.ses.standardandpoors.com.
SES does not rank or rate schools.
The publicly accessible SES web site features Standard & Poor’s written
reports assessing the strengths, challenges and risks for each school district
in Pennsylvania, along with a wide array of supporting data.
SES data for the state of Michigan
was released in late May, and is currently accessible on the web site.
