Barnes & Noble and
PAESP Present Warm Up To A Good Book – It’s the Principal of the Thing! Story
Hour
Barnes
& Noble of Camp Hill, Pa., is partnering with the Pennsylvania Association
of Elementary School Principals to present
Warm Up To A Good Book, It's the Principal of the Thing! Story Hour,
beginning in January 2002. The program essentially works like this:
principals sign up to be the featured reader at one of the Story Hours,
held evenings from 6-7 p.m. at Barnes & Noble in Camp Hill.
Participating
principals will lead the Story Hour by reading six books of their choice.
Barnes & Noble will provide a flyer to be distributed to students one
week prior to the event. As a thank you for being a special guest, you will
receive a Barnes & Noble thermal tumbler. Best
of all, Barnes & Noble will give your school a percentage of all purchases
made by the students and/or parents who bring in the flyer on the evening that
you read, between 5:30 and 8:30 p.m.
This
should be a fun event and a wonderful way to demonstrate your love of reading to
the students in your school. Students enjoy seeing their school principal in the
public spotlight, and other Principal Story Hours throughout the country have
been very successful in drawing students to this reading event. This program has
been designed to be a simple way to promote reading, raise money for your school
and foster a positive relationship between principals, students, parents and
Barnes & Noble.
Story
Hours will be scheduled between January 7 and March 22.
Please call Miranda Connelly, community relations manager at Barnes &
Noble, at 737-1350 to schedule a date and receive more details. Ms. Connelly will be compiling a list of participating
principals which will be sent to participants along with a confirmation letter.
