2002 PA Governor's Institute for Data Driven Decision Making

   Do you want to learn the best techniques for improving your school? This summer, the Pennsylvania Department of Education will provide a week of activities to guide you through a process driven by data from your own school or district. Nationally known authors and experts on topics of assessment and accountability will be available to assist and answer questions.

   You still have the opportunity to register for one of two Data Driven Decision Making Institutes! Participants will have all expenses covered, including two academic credits, except their transportation to and from the Institute. The two Institutes consist of highly similar content but are being offered at two separate times and places:

First Session:        Monday, July 22, 2002 through
                               Friday, July 26, 2002
Site:                       Susquehanna University,
                               Selinsgrove, Pa.

Second Session:    Monday July 29, 2002 through
                               Friday, August 2, 2002
Site:                       Gannon University, Erie, Pa.
Speakers:              Tom Guskey and Doug Reeves

   The NEW guidelines for accepting attendees at the DDDM Governor's Institutes are as follows:

· First priority is to teams of three or four teachers/administrators from a single school entity or district. Examples include public and charter schools, private schools or IUs.

· Second priority is to teams of three or four teachers/administrators who have formed a regional team representing districts within the same region or IU.

· Third priority is to individual teachers/administrators representing public or private schools. Individuals attending may join a group at the Institute with concurrence from that group.
