                  PAESSP Principals of the Year

                       
 From left to right: Frank P. Galicki, Dallas School District, received the High School Principal of the Year Award; Mary Monsour, assistant principal at Peters Township Middle School, received the Assistant Principal of the Year Award. She was also selected as the 2004 National Assistant Principal of the Year; and Kevin Fillgrove, Ephrata Area School District, received the Middle Level Principal of the Year Award.

PAESSP Annual Banquet

Susan Stewart, who recently retired as the division
chief for candidate evaluation services in
the Bureau of Teacher Certification and Preparation in the
Pennsylvania Department of Education, was presented with
PAESSP’s Educational Excellence Award at the annual banquet.

Dr. Jansante was honored during the annual banquet for organizing a conference
for the record books with approximately 435 in attendance!

Professional Development - General Sessions and Breakout Sessions

Dr. Todd C. Whitaker presented "What Great Principals Do Differently"
at the final general session on Tuesday. PAESSP Chief Counsel Michael Levin, Esq. spoke on Sunday
afternoon and Dr. Harry K. Wong spoke at the second general session on Monday.

    "Differentiating Instruction With Six Thinking Hats: The Teachers and
    the Research Tell Us It Works," during Monday's breakout sessions.


 

Student Performances


Pittsburgh Creative and Performing Arts (CAPA) High School entertain
attendees' between professional breakout sessions on Monday, October 25.
The principal is Michael Thorsen and the conductor is Linda Ross Brown.

The Mt. Lebanon High School Orchestra provided the entertainment before
the annual banquet and during dinner.  The principal is Dr. Zeb Jansante, the 2004
conference chair, and the conductor is Robert Vogel.
