from the
2002 PAESSP State Conference Evaluations
After reviewing the 2002 conference evaluations, it was
proven that the PAESSP State Conference in Reading, October 20-22, was a success! The following are excerpts from various
responses received in the conference evaluations:
Of all the sessions you attended at the conference, please list those that
were the most informative and why:
- The overall conference was outstanding. The keynote speakers on Sunday -

and made me realize that we need to prepare students for life 15 years from now.
- Ian Jukes was very enlightening, making us question what we do as
educators.

significant value every year.

- Jukes - best speaker by far.
- Jukes - he made us think outside the box.
- Covey. Bullying program.
- Personal planning sessions on financial planning.
Please list any ideas or suggestions that you may have in improving the
PAESSP conference, and topics that you would like to see included in the next
year's conference:
- PSSA info for principals and strategies for staff. Repeat breakouts. I
wanted to attend some that all seemed to be at the same time.
- No Child Left Behind - The implications it has for administrators and
public education.
- Hotel was great.
- Hotel was too cramped.
- Sit-down lunch.
- No buffet lines.
- All meals should provide administrators with the opportunity to sit down
and talk with colleagues.
- With all of the changes taking place in ESL, I would have expected some
current info. Legal issues and information is always interesting and useful.
Each year, we rush through the last session on legal issues. Why not run several
breakout sessions dealing with some of the legal issues? It would allow for
smaller groups with greater opportunity to ask questions.
- Vendor area could have included professional books/materials for sale.
- More updated info on ESL and NCLB.
- More current topics - No Child Left Behind, Standards.
