   Early education and care is a cornerstone of PDE's work to strengthen opportunities for young children. This day-long session will provide you with funding updates, programmatic updates and opportunities for input into the state's work in early childhood. 

Key topics include:

Early Education and Care Priorities and Budget in Departments of Education and Public Welfare for 2005-06

Funding Opportunities (including the Education Accountability Block Grant, the Head Start Supplemental, Keystone Stars) and technical assistance for supporting applications under these programs

Pre-K Partnership -a new initiative

Keys to Quality for Excellence in Early Care and Education - a new initiative

Summer Professional Development Update

Early Learning Standards Update, including assessment recommendations

Early Intervention Update

Opportunities for input into the new Child Care and Development Block Grant state plan

Opportunities for input into the state's priorities and strategies for early education and care

Philadelphia is February 7th; Harrisburg is February 15th; and Pittsburgh is February 21st.
