Beginning June 2006 all certified educators
were assigned a new 7-digit Professional Personnel ID (PP ID#) number generated
by the PDE. At least through the
2006-07 school year, the primary use of this ID will be to provide an
alternative to SSN for certified educators to use to report and retrieve their
Continuing Education credits and hours. For
the time being SSN will be acceptable if the PP ID# is not known.
(It is the responsibility of the educator to obtain his PP ID# - not the
provider.) Rosters submitted by a
provider will not be accepted by the new system until all of the educators it
contains can be properly identified as having certificates in
Pennsylvania
’s Teachers Certification System which require compliance under Act 48 of
1999. It is very important that
either the SSN or PP ID# submitted by the provider match that which is on file
at the PDE.
This is being stressed because the form you
complete for the PAESSP Conference will require either your SSN or your PP ID#.
If this is not provided, the hours you apply for will not be submitted.
