Scholarships Offered Once Again for New Principal Candidates
New Application Required for 2003
-- Do Not
Use Application from 2002
The Pennsylvania Educational Leadership Foundation (PELF), the foundation of the Pennsylvania Association of Elementary and Secondary School Principals, will again award up to 10 scholarships of $400 to Pennsylvania principals to defray the cost of the Pennsylvania principal certification examination.
Individuals must be sponsored by a PAESSP member as being a "principal candidate in good standing." Candidates who receive the scholarships are required to either maintain their PAESSP membership or initiate membership in the PAESSP. If more than 10 qualified applications are received by the deadline, a drawing will be held to determine the 10 scholarship recipients. Preference will be given to applicants who are current PAESSP members. The deadline for application is Friday, August 29, 2003.
As the shortage of principals applying for positions continues to worsen, every effort must be made to encourage new leaders. The scholarships are indicative of the ongoing efforts by the foundation and PAESSP to benefit Pennsylvania public education.
If you would like to apply for a Principal Test Scholarship, please complete the application below. Please note that in order to qualify for a scholarship, applicants must be sponsored by a member principal. New this year -- recommending principals (sponsors) must complete the appropriate section of the application.
